Adventure
Mr M and I got up early today and went for a walk before it got too hot, enjoying the view from the hillside overlooking the harbour.
After breakfast, we went to the pool for keepy uppy practise (we are taking this way to seriously!) and managed to get to 136 - the target of 169 is in sight. We now have tactics.
When our hosts Jo and John arrived back we set off for an adventure - they told us that the only take intrepid guests here (we were pleased to fall into that category!)
We drove down hairpin bends to get to the waterside where we parked up and clambered down rocks. Jo and Master M took the canoe loaded with stuff and the rest of us swam out to a tiny beach, pushing ‘dry bags’ in front of us with the rest of our stuff. You can’t get to this beach any other way. Mr M then did what he does best with the bbq and we ate sausages on the beach, followed by melon and coffee (flasks were packed too!). We spent a lovely relaxing time taking turns in the canoe and swimming through beautiful caves. The water was so blue and clear and the photo really doesn’t do it justice. Then it was time to pack it all away and swim/canoe back with all the stuff.
After showers we walked to a local taverna for a fantastic meal with a wonderful view from high up over the coastline.
The walk back in the dark was refreshing and the stars were incredible - some of us even saw a shooting star. Back at the house we lay on the veranda to get more amazing views of the stars and dozed off in the warm breeze.
If a holiday is about doing things that you don’t normally do at home, then today ticked all the boxes!
