Roses through the window today!

A little different from this day - tonight the wind is whipping, the rain is drenching and we've had thunder and lightening. Still pretty warm though. Was unbearably hot this afternoon. I feel sorry for those camping, the weather is pretty mixed with heavy rain in some areas.

Today some old friends of Dave's came over for lunch. They currently live on Horn Island (in Torres Strait, in Queensland's north between the Australian mainland and Papua New Guinea) are planning a cycle trip from Christchuch to Queenstown. If this weather keeps up I doubt they will get away tomorrow.

We are also expecting another friend of Daves who lives in London but is over here visiting his mother in Tauranga to come down for the weekend. Will be nice to catch up. Back to work tomorrow.....
