An early morning trip to the beach ...

Back in Grosseto and the weather still beats down on us. I decided to try going to the beach at Principina bright and early, to miss both the crowds and the midday heat. Hmmm, it wasn't such a success. I was already walking on the beach at 7.30 a.m. and wandered along till the end of the beach, but I'm afraid it just couldn't compare with Waimanalo. The sand was a grubby dark yellow colour and the water was a bit murky. Already by 8.15 when I was on my way back, the crowds were starting to arrive. I had a swim, but it was a little bit half-hearted. I will have to give time for Waimanalo to leave room for other beaches in my imagination.

We're doing so much cleaning and reorganizing here in Grosseto. Each day we tackle a room - so far the kitchen and living room. Satisfying but hard work!

Dinner on the terrace at Sandro and Lidia's. Lovely to see them again. Lots of tales to share, both from Hawaii and from their recent trip to Norway.
