Early surprise!

I had just got to work and was walking past the main border when I noticed this lovely Peacock butterfly on a leek flower (yes, we plant leeks in amongst the flowers).

Today is a sad day with the demise of my characterful straw hat at the hands, or rather teeth, of the hat murderer Edith who decided the top of the hat, which was flapping, needed to come off and be chewed! She became very camera shy as I tried to get photographic evidence.
