New Year's eve

Firstly, having technical troubles so this blip is from yesterday:

We started our New Year celebration at a party and close to midnight we walked to the village square and, joining around a 100 villagers we stood around the brazier chatting and listening to the muffled church bells ringing out the old year, closely followed by the unmuffled bells ringing in the new.

The peal over, we made a big circle and sang auld lang syne and ate mince pies! Very different and very enjoyable!
