Crepe Myrtle....
The last time you saw this tree, it had been heavily styled and pruned. The leaves have comeback, new branching is beginning to develop, and the darn tree insists on flowering! I have fought with the tree all spring and early summer, trying to keep the flowers off. The reason for inhibiting the flowers is to allow all the energy that flowering takes, can be diverted to the tree and enhance it's development.
But alas, the tree is winning. I have decided to let it be and do it's thing. The flowers are beautiful and colorful, the tree is demanding to reproduce itself, so I am allowing nature to have it's way.
