Splash of colour
In the heart of the city I spotted this patch of rewilding just off High Street, Glasgow. I've been told the white species is Queen Anne's Lace (cow parsley) and the pink one looks like Yarrow which is a herb, with the above ground parts used to make medicines. I remember seeing the Cow's Parsley on roadside verges, grassland, farmland, woodland edges and alongside hedgerows when I was growing up in the countryside. It brings back childhood memories! I much prefer this approach of introducing plants into spare ground to soften the city environment, rather than gaudy hanging baskets which needs lots of watering or become bedraggled with too much rain.
