A Dad Day

Dad had two appointments today for me to take him to.  I checked in with his cleaner first thing to make sure everything was ok with her - she is a really lovely woman who looks after things well for us,  Then we started with the Dentist and I was a bit worried when they couldn't find his card to start with and then they didn't know he was there to have a new tooth fitted on his denture.  It all worked in the end somehow but it resulted in another appointment this afternoon to collect the adjusted denture.

This was followed by a visit to buy frozen stuff and other general groceries from Iceland (the shop!  Jokes unnecessary...) We bought rather a lot and I decided it was all too heavy so we took advantage of their free delivery service.  What a good idea that is!

We then went for coffee and a tea cake and a bit of a natter.

After that I took him home but was back a couple of hours later to take him to his medication review with the nurse at his Doctor's surgery.  That was very quick!  Blood pressure check and an enquiry as to whether he was taking his tablets.  He said he was.  I suppose he does most of the time.  Then I took him home.

I was back a couple of hours later to take him back to the dentist and to take Rob round to wait for the Iceland order to arrive.  As it happened we were home before the delivery, complete with false teeth (Dad's!) so had time for a cup of tea together.

All seems to be well.

The buildings in the Blip are now some of the oldest ones in Halesowen as nearly all the really old ones were demolished in the 1960s.  They are the council house and some shops.  In one of the shops I bought one of my first LPs when I was about 12 I think.  It was the Monkees, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Limited.  I was in love with Davy Jones.  Who was your teenage crush? They are developing and I hope restoring the buildings so I thought I would track progress.  A pity I didn't think about that before they put up all the scaffolding.

We are looking forward to a little trip North for a couple of days...
