More messing on the river

Yesterday we tried swimming in the river Brathay as it enters Windermere, today we swam from Fellfoot at the southern end of the lake, along the river Leven to the Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge. This was a lovely swim with a gentle current, and we emerged from the water elegantly at some steps leading up to the river terrace.
