Day six: Mysore

Last full day in Mysore so early rise (for us) and up the Chamundi Hill, 12k south of town.

Splendid temple atop the hill, and a pilgrim path of sorts back down; 1000 steps for the devout Hindu. 361 steps take you as far as (i) the 5m Nandi bull carved out of living rock and (ii) our tuk-tuk for return journey.

Quick hotel lunch then off to the Mysore Race Club for some horsey fun. Only stayed for two races as was hellish hot; lost 1100INR on first race, doubled up with a 2000INR wager on the second and, by the magic that is the Tote, won ... 3100INR. I am simply am even-stevens.

Goa tomorrow. Fish curry awaits.
