Magic & Unicorn
The final day of the Magic & Unicorn Tour, the name coming from the T-shirt granddaughter Charlotte was wearing when she arrived a week ago.
The day, until about 16.00, was spent in & around the pool except for Barry who kindly spent hours sorting out Angie's new lawn tractor. He simply gets on with it and I felt very guilty as I didn't realise quite how much time he had spent rather than enjoying more time at the pool.
Eventually the sad moment arrived when we had to set off for the airport. Mum as always did her excellent record of collecting up all the bits & pieces scattered around the property and maintained her 100% record of never having forgotten anything.
It has been another great experience for me but as always, after they left, all the things that we hadn't done kept annoying me. I would so love to spend some time with them doing "normal" everyday things. However, one can't have everything and I am so thankful that they take the time from their busy schedule to come over at all. And as always, Kate & Barry were both extremely hard-working guests and the children exemplary. Particularly proud of how they reacted at the weekend to the new guest.
Their plane was delayed for almost an hour in the sweltering humid heat as the promised storm clouds formed. I went out for a walk with Luna at the new take-off time but the planes were leaving in the opposite direction. Luckily the storms which had probably caused the delay in the plane getting in from Ireland did not materialise.
Back home I tracked the flight until it touched down safely in Dublin and finally went to bed when the message came through that they had been licked to death at home by the greeting from dogs, cats, sheep & chickens.
Thank you, guys!
