A Very Fine Cat
HODGE
'a very fine cat indeed'
belonging to SAMUEL JOHNSON (1709-1784)
of Gough Square
'Sir, when a man is tired of London
he is tired of life: for there is in
London all that life can afford.'
'The chief glory of every people
arises from its authours.'
A dry day to start the new year, so we had a walk over to Fleet Street and back. This statue is opposite Dr Johnson's house in Gough Square.
