At the Hearth....

Following the weather’s cold snap of yesterday, we had a frost this morning. It was a day to keep the fire burning in the wood burner. Maisie certainly appreciated the warmth. Recently Duncan brought us some kanuka wood from his property to burn on the fire. It burns well and with some care and attention we have learned to keep the fire ticking over all night. Despite the colder temperatures we had a breeze which was good for drying the washing outdoors.
