Painted Lady Summer
The ladies have finally made it to our garden from Africa. Three are feeding on the golden marjoram, which is definitely their favourite of what we have on offer.
Despite feeling a bit ill today, the sun and wildlife in the garden are making me feel a little better. It's been almost exactly four years since we moved here. What was once a barren back yard is now a green, flower-filled oasis.
On that note, I wondered what creatures had been attacking my roses (see the extra). I looked up the distinctive cut marks in the leaves and it turns out that they may have been made by leaf cutter bees making their nests. Think I can live with that! The rose seems to be fine despite the munching.
