A new view in compensation...

For reasons that I don’t need to go into, but involve my third transport mishap of the week (ameliorated by the very kind Antonia who gave me a lift to Gourock station) , at 9.00 am I found myself waiting for the train to Edinburgh in the middle of the impressive building site that is presently Glasgow’s Queen St station.

The down side was the understandable lack of space for any coffee stall, not least because I had been looking forward to one since I left home at 6.40.

The upside was this newly revealed view , which will be a fantastic feature of the restored and rebuilt station once it is finished.
