Wilma
The Mountain View Cafe and Bakery was very crowded when I arrived today. There was one table available which they claimed they were saving for me (but I have my doubts). Almost from the moment I was seated a woman approached me asking if she could join me. She recognized me from Italian Catholic Federation meetings.
Her name is Wilma and she speaks with a heavy accent. I didn’t recognize it as Italian but it was definitely a Romance language. After chatting for a while she told me she was from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
Before she left, I thought I might take her photo with my phone. I thought that she had an interesting face and it would also be good practice taking portraits which it seems I have done a few times recently.
I have a 5:30 pm appointment for an MRI on my left shoulder in Tucson tonight. I can’t believe that they couldn’t offer me an earlier time, regardless of the day. Will let you know after seeing my surgeon on Monday what’s going on.

Little Jimmy’s preschool class took a trip to the fire station. The firefighter held up a smoke detector and asked the class, “does anyone know what this is?“
Little Jimmy’s hand shot up. “That’s how mommy knows dinner is ready!”
