Farnborough

A day off work and a trip down to the former Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough for a day of taking photos in a disused wind tunnel. Abandoned in the late 1990's it is an impressive piece of engineering from the early part of the last century. It's massive! 24ft in diameter working section and the rest of it bigger than that. A huge fan with carved mahogany blades at about 10ft long each, 5 of them to a fan, powered by a 2000hp electric motor.
