Alston Arches/Haltwhistle Viaduct

I've walked past these arches on numerous occasions but have never stopped to look through from the end of the bridge. The river is running from right to left and I am looking through from one span to the next and the next. You can see the bridge here.

I find the image quite intriguing. Sometimes the arches seem to blend; sometimes you get a strong sense of the perspective. It's hard to believe that the bridge is spanning the River South Tyne here - it's not narrow.

11 of us walked about 7 very muddy miles today. It was a surprise that there was no rain. We had a great time of course.
