A Hitchcock Classic
There is a ball of Whitebait just off Carbis Bay beach and this causes a flock of thousands of Gulls, Kittiwakes, Cormorants, etc to circle on the surface above trying to catch them.
It was too late and getting dark when I went there today to get anything good but they were right by the shoreline so it was very impressive. There were also a few seals herding the fish.
Someone said they were sprats but as a few came flopping by my feet when a wave broke, I can confirm it was whitebait. I only which I had been as quick as the chap next to me wh0 beat the seagulls and picked up a dozen off the sand which he is having for his tea.
