Rackwick
It is the Current Mrs Creel’s birthday. The usual procedure ensued. She had a long lie and called for one of her cigars to be taken through after she had breakfasted in bed. This year was different but something told me in advance that the pipe band wasn’t a good idea. The noise fairly reflected off the lowered ceiling. I asked CMC if she thought that next year a brass band would be better. She retorted that it all depended on where I wear it. After she had drained the last of the breakfast champagne from my slingbacks she sprang out of bed to examine the offer I had gift wrapped. Put it this way – I have played a blinder. She sprang back into bed. No, hang on, things are getting a bit post watershed. Speaking of sheds we went round to see Colin’s shed in Stenness before arranging the trip to Rackwick.
We had a surprise meet up with our Dumfries correspondent in Rackwick. They’d had a terrible night o’ the midgacs.
We caught the boat back and are getting ready to go out for a birthday meal. Tomorrow we will be in the Hoy Hills with Marion and Ian from Perth, West Aust.
