I said that the new build has a lead keel; this is not it. This a a pattern carefully designed and made in a soft wood. It is upside down as we look at it. It was then taken on this small trailer to a foundry where it was cast in lead. Being so much heavier, the lead keel was delivered back to the yard on a lorry which had to be unloaded with a crane. It is now sitting in the shed waiting to be attached to the wooden keel blipped on 31 December.
