Dingy

Although I saw more than a hundred of both Peacock and Painted Lady today, along with Ringlet, Meadow Brown, Small Skipper, Comma, Gatekeeper, Small Heath, Speckled Wood, Small, Large and Green-veined White, this single Dingy Footman is my find of the day as it's the first I've seen and a relatively uncommon record for my neck of the woods.

Later, at the football, City kicked off their League Two season with a frustrating 0-0 draw against Cambridge United. We did almost get an early contender for goal of the season, but James Vaughan's spectacular long range overhead kick kissed the top of the crossbar. It will take a while for this new look team to gel; we'll have a better idea of the prospects for the season once they have a few more games under their belt. Adam got a start, which was a plus.
