The skies were leaden as we started our walk to St Abb’s Head but by the time we reached Pettico Wick the sun started to come out and it became really warm.  The view is from there looking north towards the high cliffs with their different strata, some of which can be seen dipping steeply to the sea with an anticline in the middle distance. Hundreds of sea birds were flying around the cliffs with some young chicks still sitting on the ledges.  (Extra) Among the butterflies there were a few Wall Browns, several Painted Ladies and innumerable Small Coppers
