Mt Taranaki, Nth Island,NZ

Spent three days with Judith in Palmerston North, we did a side trip to my birth place, Stratford which sits at the base of Mt Taranaki ( Egmont ), Its been 50 years since I left there and was nice to walk around some of the places I grew up in . The town has changed quite considerably of course, but we did meet a man who remembered my father, dad used to be the Borough Engineer here. It was lovely to meet someone who remembered from that long ago time. Growing up in this town was a special time, the river that flows behind the house was a place the kids in the neighborhood used to play in and around and still just the same as I remember it.  Memories of picking blackberries along the banks and of the old swing bridge (which are no more). You can't go back, but it was nice to visit.
