The Dragons guarding the City of London

A dragon is set at all the main entrances to the City of London. Some people say it is a Griffin but that is an entirely different animal composed of the back of a lion and head and wings of an eagle.
The dragon comes from its association with St George and both the flag of St George, which is the flag of England, and the dragon are on the official City of London crest.
London, as we know it today is made up of two cities; the City of London or financial "square mile" and the city of Westminster- where we all go shopping and see the theatre.
