Japanese tranquillity

C had heard about a Japanese Garden near Dollar so we decided to investigate.   It was well worth the visit.  The garden was originally designed in the early years of the 20th century by Taki Handa for Scottish adventurer Ella Christie and at the time was hailed as the most important Japanese garden in the Western World.   Sadly vandalised in the sixties, a restoration project has been underway since 2014 and the garden has recently opened to the public.

We had a lovely wander around and then enjoyed the home baking in their tearoom before heading onwards to Dundee for our wee night away.
