...with a visitor

well, i declare

this is another 1st for me - i have been posting now - for nearly 9 years - and over those years - have had an aversion to spiders - when i first began - i couldn’t even bear to - look at them - not in nature - not in journals - in fact, i remember with one - individual i had her promise - me to give a warning - if she was going to post - a spider in her journal - so i could avoid it for the day - i couldn’t bear the possibility - of being creeped out

but over time - i began to slowly build up a tolerance - that tolerance turned into fascination - as long as they were in their - own habitat, meaning outside - i learned to appreciate them - and if not too big - i could look upon them - like any other photo - this didn’t happen overnight - it’s taken many, many years - i no longer need a heads-up - from that friend - when she posts a spider - on her journal - now we giggle over - how far we both have come

for me, myself to actually - put this little guy up on - my journal is a real milestone - when i stumbled upon him - all i thought was - how unusual he was - a sort of translucent spider - how cool is that? - you never would’ve heard me - say that even 2 years ago - how’s that for making it...
