Oran
All went swimmingly until 47 miles from Edinburgh when we came to a standstill owing to an accident on the last bit of single carriageway road before dual carriageway into Edinburgh. Careful perusal of various maps showed no alternative routes. Many people turned round meaning we made some progress to near the front of the queue.
After being stationery for over an hour the road was reopened and we slowly passed the scene which was rather sobering in that there were several cars involved most of which were rather worse for wear. Fortunately, the passenger compartments of all involved seemed to be relatively undamaged.
Today’s blip was going to be an opportunist shot from the car during the lunch stop of a young man very intently concentrating on his phone but our introduction to Oran this evening stole the day.
