Chilled Whisky
The legend that is StevieFish holds court...
Not too bad a Monday at work, but even so I was looking forward to meeting up with some people at the Scotch malt Whisky Society at the Vaults in Leith. Mr Fish had graciously offered to help out when we needed another member to be able to sign in four of us who were non-members (you can only sign in three at a time). I've never been before and I've already fallen in love with the place.
And it's definitely the perfect location to explore this very new liking for whisky I've discovered. Bit sneaky this shot, it turns out you're not actually allowed to take photos inside. D'oh! I wonder if that'll affect my application to join which I have every intention of making next month...?
The big room in the Vaults is such a relaxed place, the food was good, and the Japanese, Ardbeg and grain whisky that I sampled all backed-up the fact that my tastebuds appear to have hit that age at which I can appreciate a good malt, and actually tell the difference between them. Peat and smoke are still winning out.
