CATERPILLAR
of the swallowtail butterfly. On the herb-of-grace or common rue I discovered this morning a caterpillar. Some years ago I had bought four little plants of the herb, and every year they grew larger.
When I had seen some weeks ago the butterfly flying near the rue, I had not a moment thought that she could have laid an egg.
Hopefully the caterpillar can survive. One could make or buy a little box in which it could hibernate, I read at a site. I am not sure I want to do a thing like that.
Some extra photos with the beautiful caterpillar.
It had rained in the morning, but later the sun shone and it was warm, a bit sultry. So I kept quiet in the afternoon.
