Looking down
A day of ups and downs!
Started off well when I managed to produce two near-perfect poached eggs for breakfast - a very rare occurrence in this house.
A not-so-good moment mid-morning, when I managed to bash one of my toes so hard on a piece of wood that I saw stars! It broke the skin, a very tiny gash but there was blood all over the place and, despite immediate application of ice, the toe is black and swollen, and quite painful. Not a pretty sight, so I'll refrain from blipping it!
An early-afternoon hobble walk around the Common, where we spotted two red squirrels, both high up in trees. This little guy had been going somewhere in a hurry, but stopped when he spotted us. Back home for an hour before MrM drove the car down to the local garage to have the ominous warning light investigated. Seems that it's probably something and nothing, almost certainly to do with the electrics, and they've sorted it out. But if it comes on again to take it back, and they'll fix the possible underlying cause.... No charge this time - phew! Just hoping that the doesn't come on again!
Very good to speak with Lu on the phone this evening. Hoping to meet up with her, if only briefly, next month...
