A bit of (bind)weeding!
Jon had to be in Basildon by 7.30, which meant leaving about 4am. I got up at the normal time and took Henry with me, dropping him at the yard for the first day of his apprenticeship.
Work was as normal, but at lunchtime Carol and I had a wander, for fresh air. We helped a lady who slipped over on the cobbles (on a banana skin just dropped on the pavement). She hit her head, so I went into the cafe and got a cold compress. Then we did a bit of shopping, before we got caught in a sudden deluge, and had to shelter in the Castle Mall.
At 4 I left on time to collect Henry. He was quite chatty - a sign he'd had a good day, which reassured me.
Mollie and I made a roasted vegetable dinner, then I got outside to tackle one small patch of the bindweed border. I spotted, hidden, a beautiful clematis, (bottom picture)and an anemone that has been with me since Linton. Both almost fatally strangled, i inched the bindweed away. Still lots to do, but i found some old trellis and fixed up the clematis, (top picture) and staked the anemone. Tomorrow i hope to do more.
Daniel arrived back after a weekend with his uni friends at Centre Parcs. Lovely to see Rhia too who has been on holiday and is looking lovely and golden brown.
Now Long Lost Family, and then an early night.
