Gathering

A day of wandering and soaking up the atmosphere since C&T came up for a day from their holiday in Northumberland and brought H&D and baby Sc with them. Lovely to see them all and to meet Sc who was smiley and calm and friendly and quiet all day.....despite the mayhem of the streets. We had a good relaxed chatty lunch in Mosque kitchen and did some ticket buying...not hugely successfully but did catch a mad physical theatre/comedy show later in the afternoon (even used an upturned stool as a set of bagpipes?!) and then another funny discussion about technology and its increasing intrusiveness in our lives (cameras in fridges anyone?!).
After they left Sa and I headed back to the Usher Hall for another evening of great music....West Side Story with a fabulous cast of singers, the SCO and conducted by John Eliot Gardiner of all people. It was a riot....and received a huge and prolonged standing ovation from a packed hall.
Home but whacked out so fairly early to bed,
