Contrast

A day of contrasts.

A sad farewell to a favourite patient with hugs and tears all round. Sad though it is, this is a huge reason why I love my job; getting to know a patient and its owners, seeing them through good times and bad, being able to offer dignity and comfort at the end...

A nervous wait for exam results for middle son who proved he is made of stern stuff (possibly having inherited a little of his mother's thrawness!)

A trip to see the surgeon who had operated on me a few weeks back to discover that all is well and there are no nasty surprises lurking.

By 4pm, I felt as if I had been pulled through a hedge.
So, I went to sit for a while and look at my favourite tree.

I discovered the "Tickle Tree" when I first started Blipping, and it became a huge favourite.
I've photographed it in snow and sunshine, under steely clouds and clear blue skies and sunsets.
In the past 7 years, it has started to die, and I fear it won't last much longer. A fence has been erected beside it which makes me wonder if the chainsaws will be next.

In case this is my last Blip of this wonderful little tree, here it is!

Links to the Tickle Tree entries when it was in its full glory with its branches tickling the sky. The story of its name is in there too..
