Harvest time

I was determined not to do yet another nature photo for today's Tiny Tuesday but, whilst walking in the woods, Em spotted these ants "harvesting" aphids (I think). For me, ants are tricky to photo as they're small and bloody nippy so I gave it a go. Getting some almost non-blurry pics without a flash was quite satisfying (especially the main pic with the ant giving me the once over) and, as ever, I find these close-ups fascinating.

Edit: Em's just informed me that the ants are "milking" the aphids and protect them... which I now kinda remember from my school days!
