Toots in Solitude

Biggar

So intent was I this morning to get the early bus to Biggar before then travelling back to West Linton to meet friends for lunch that I forgot a very vital item. Glasses- check; mobile- check; purse- check; keys- check; bus pass- check; umbrella- check; sun glasses(optimism)- check; camera- check, and a few other items in my bag. It was while I was boarding the bus that I noticed a lop-sidedness on my upper torso. Never mind, no-one else seemed to notice, not even my friends.
I very much enjoyed a coffee in the Crown Inn which looked refurbished since my days there.
There is now a Museum where my old garage had been. I didn't get time to spend looking around, next time I promised myself. I loved that garage run by two brothers. One always filled my car for me and the other did the money collecting. Alec the mechanic right through the back of the shop always did a splendid job on MOT's. I love nostalgic memories like that, my mind makes them into larger and more colourful stories but it was true that I loved going to that garage.
Had a lovely time in West Linton too and Shelagh came back on the bus to Penicuik absolutely loaded down with bags of stuff plus a vacuum cleaner. This was all from Ann who is having a clear out prior to her move to Dalbeattie. I resisted all temptations except for a grey poncho which I adore.
