On the way to the elephant ride

Today we went on an elephant ride. Armed with the camera we took a powered canoe along a tributary of the Mekong river. These rivers seem to be the main transport routes through Laos dense forest. The banks of the river are covered in small farming plots and this lady took time from her chores to give us a cheery wave and so I blipped her!
