NO SHOULDER TO LEAN ON

Stranded Vehicle on the M1. One of the sections which have been upgraded to Smart Motorways, by turning the hard shoulder into a fourth lane and making Refuge Areas at intervals instead. The difficulty is managing to breakdown in the appropriate refuge spot. We got past fairly quickly and were luckier than later cars who were caught up in a jam by a vehicle fire.

Home again after spending last night with youngest stepson and family.
