A very blustery day
Gosh what a blustery day - we have had rain, sunshine, and a lot of wind. This morning we went in to the village with Xena to have a coffee - she was as good as gold sitting on Luke's lap although when his order of avo on toast came she came to sit on my lap (see extra)
After lunch Gavin and I went to speak to the kennels we always used for Murdoch, to see how it would work if Xena went there in the future. The kennel is a family run business that has been going for many years and the woman who started it was a breeder of Great Danes and Hungarian Vizslas (and a highly regarded dog breed judge all over the world) so they are very familiar with Hungarian Vizslas and the family still own one. When we got Xena's pedigree generation chart from the Kennel Club we found out that her mum has a few Hemlake ancestors, which is the name of their breeding line. The advantage of this kennel is they know us so well and we know them, and she will be well looked after there and we can also book extra walks and even an additional daily training session. I worry that they are such people orientated dogs that she may want to be with someone all the time, so I am also looking at a pet sitter who takes a dog into their home. We did this with Murdoch many years ago and it was a very bad experience, despite being vetted and checked and booked through a pet sitter agency he was not well treated, which is why we then went to this particular kennel the next time we went away.
