Garden Visitor
Here is a male small white, Pieris rapae.
Three others were around along with 2 painted ladies, 1 peacock, and 1 red admiral.
Two days ago I was visited for the first time by a speckled wood.
Speckled woods are now getting established in Fife on their expansion northwards following the march of the commas 12 years ago. The small skippers are not far behind having reached the Lothians coast of the Forth - just a skip away. The large skippers are also expanding northwards but are still a little behind having established themselves in the Borders (Berwickshire).
