YAKETY YAK (DON'T TALK BACK)
or "Sisters, Sisters, never have there such devoted sisters"!!!!
Aunty B on the left Mum on the right.
A very wet day in The Lakes. Hubby came today too and after picking Mum and Aunty B up from Morecambe we started off at Low Sizergh Barn for coffee and scones and a look around the shop. Then drove up through Windermere, past Rydal Water, Grasmere, Thirlmere and because St John's Vale road was closed up to the A66 and onto Ullswater - again.
I was pointing out the various lakes to Aunty B, and she would occasionally look up and say "oh isn't that lovely" then yackety yak - her and my Mother didn't stop talking the whole day - Hubby and I now think we've gone deaf as there is no yackety yaking!!!
Not complaining it was great to see Aunty B and wonderful for my Mum to have her youngest sister to talk to.
I stopped off again, at Inn On The Lake and this time went into the Candle Room for a very lovely lunch. Still raining, a bit less but still raining.
Then a drive back up Ullswater and drove back via Larch Cottage Nurseries, for a browse round the shop, then back via Shap to Morecambe.
On entering Lancashire it would appear that it had stopped raining a while ago as the roads were dry - aaaarrrggghhhh - we could hae stayed more local - oh well they never complained and to be quite honest doubt it would have made much difference to their chatting. Mum's leg was playing up again so she couldn't have walked too far anyway. She gets sciatica occasionally, usually when wet and cold.
After a cup of coffee and Mum's place and fond farewell to Aunty B and hoping she will bring better weather with her next year we came home.
Now need to spend a little time and catching up with photographs taken for the LetsDO52 and EDPS camera clubs.
Thanks as usual for dropping by and reading my ramblings. Hope you are all well, safe and dry.
