One Crowded Hour

robert...

...what? I hear you say.
Well many decades ago there was a lad in Yorkshire named Robert Pratt...and his nickname was Noilly!
I know it seems like a dubious connection from Northern England to the south of France but there it was.
And many decades later here we are in Marseillan at the house of Noilly Prat where the NP foursome of Vermouths  (Original Dry, Extra Dry, Rouge and Amber) are created.

During the 19th century casks of white wine were transported by ship, stored on deck and out there in the elements of wind, rain and salt water.
In L'Enclos, barrels of regional white dry wine which eventually become Original Dry are aged in an environment exposing the wines to the same elements.

The botanicals used in flavouring the Vermouth are many and varied and clever dudes at NP make those up now in a tea mix!
Vermouth tea?
Mmmmm.
