Finally!

With all our travels and visitors, I have not yet had a chance to go to the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge to shoot the hummingbirds.  I wasn't sure I was going to go this morning, but at the last minute, I packed up the car and headed out.  What a pleasant surprise it was for me to run into my partner in crime, WRPerry.  We were able to have a good catch-up, as well as shoot these charming little birds.

I have never seen a hummer  sitting on a leaf before.  Usually, they perch on a stem, or a branch.  Their tiny little feet don't allow them to walk as other birds do, so this surprised me. 

This is the first chance I have had to try out the A7riii with the new 100-400 lens and I have to say, my yield of in-focus shots was much higher than it has been in the past.  I am very pleased.
