Machiasport Mermaid

It was high tide when we took Mabel for her walk along the shingle this morning.  Up until today, she has been perfectly happy to pick her way carefully between the stones, but hasn't shown much interest in the water itself.  For some reason she decided now is the time to really get into the whole Maine seashore experience, and so she marched right into the water, paddled about, tasted it (I don't think she thought much of the saltiness!), and then surprised herself when she stepped a little too far and suddenly found herself awkwardly afloat!  (See extra).  She is drying off outside in the sunshine now.
