Lammassaari (Sheep Island)
Today was the last day of hubby's summer vacation. We did a trip to Helsinki with Peetu, and one of our activities was a walk to Lammassaari island. This wonderfully peaceful island is practically in the centre of a modern metropolitan area. Surrounded by the sea and wet swamplands, Lammassaaari island can only be reached by 1,2 km long duckboards built on top of the old sea floor (or by a boat). We listened relaxing sound of whispering wind moving three-meter high grasses along a wooden trail, as we made our way through Lammassaari. (The wide trail to Lammassaari has been designed to accommodate wheelchairs and strollers.)
And no Helsinki visit without a visit to an art exhibition, this time I visited the Art Gallery Forsblom / Marika Mäkelä's exhibition.
+22°C, sunny
