Hot air balloons flying overhead

As the sun was about to drop over the horizon I went out into the garden and heard the tell tale sound of the burner in a hot air ballon being ignited. I looked around in the sky above me and saw ten balloons moving swiftly on the breeze overhead. They were coming from the southwest probably from the Bristol hot air balloon festival which was badly affected by the recent storms.

They must have been off on a race while conditions were set fair. We used to see balloons regularly but not so often in recent years. Sometimes they flew up the valley behind the house only just above tree height and I envied them the views of the beautiful wooded valley ahead of them.
