More of Aimee's shoes

I had lunch with Aimee Sitarz, creator of the Bronze Shoes Installation that quite a few Blippers have helped to hang. We talked about our concerns for Saturday (about what you'd expect), about a new activist art project she's working on (umbrellas), and about her upcoming show. She wants to try selling shoes for people to hang, as a way to raise funds for RAICES, a wonderful organization that helps immigrants. But in order to get ready for that show, she needs to "bronze" a couple of hundred more shoes, and so she has a crowd-funding scheme on Facebook, hoping to get enough money together to cover the costs of the shoes. We laughed at our own inability to raise funds for just about anything, including our monthly expenses. Nothing to do but laugh.

After lunch with Aimee, I met up with Sue to go to see an afternoon screening of the wonderful Chinese movie, Farewell. I drove, and coming back to the car after the movie, I noticed I had parked right next to some of Aimee's shoes. You couldn't make this stuff up.
