KORELKO DAY 21

Today was the last beach visit for the Kharkiv group. As before it takes a while to bond then it’s time to say goodbye. We had made some lovely friendships...there were several students who made a big impression.
#this girl Polinnea with Annabel was exceptionally kind and instigated a round of applause me at circle time.
#friendships across the ages too...this is Annabel with our lovely bonkers doctor....
#who today was holding a child’s finger in hot Greek coffee...to remove an infected splinter!!!
#in the afternoon we had a swimming gala. I came joint second in the leaders race*. It was great chaotic fun!!!
After dinner it was time for the candlelight ceremony to say goodbye and reflect on things they have experienced at camp. It was great to get a special thank you from a group. I was also asked to say a few words.
I have learnt so much about Ukrainian people and despite what our media often portrays you are beautiful people inside and out and each of you have been inspirational to me. Thank you.
