The Blue Hour
An interrupted night's sleep, had me awake in plenty of time to drive into Birmingham well before sunrise to continue my project photographing the new Centenary Square. At that time in the morning the trip takes only 20 or so minutes and parking is easy.
My only challenges were a persistent drizzle and the wind, which caused the water to ripple. I just had to get my timing right to capture the reflections of the buildings around the square. I waited around for sunrise, and although it gives a slightly different feel (see extra), I still preferred the earlier image with the lighting still on and reflected.
