Sally Mair - Loving life

Improvement?

Into town early to John Lewis for a massage at Clarins. Very chilled now.
I popped in and confirmed the venue details for a meeting I've booked on Saturday and the person I spoke to said 'Oh, you smell lovely!'. An interesting response from a stranger although I suppose I was sitting in a small room with no windows waiting for her!
Walking down Leith Street today, the new St James Quarter, is growing quickly. So far it's not looking like much improvement on the concrete monstrosity it's replacing - although the cranes are impressive. Presumably the yet to be installed cladding will improve things though. The odd perspective makes the clock tower of the Balmoral, or North British, Hotel look quite dwarfed.
I walked home via Stockbridge, popping in for the second day in a row, to Bon Papillon, delicious scone with my coffee.
Back home just in time to grab a quick cuppa before heading round to the rectory to check up on some work that's been done there. On my way home I made the compulsory visit to the charity shops where I met somebody I was at school with. I do find it astounding that we could still recognise each other after almost 50 years. Ali did well from this visit and I gained a nice White Stuff tunic.
Back home again very briefly before Colin and I popped down to Morrisons for a quick shop. He then walked home and I went to Kathryn and Jon's to babysit while they went out to celebrate their 12th anniversary, just a few days late.
A bit of a fuss over tea, but in bed and asleep by 7.45...the children not me!
20267 steps so target smashed for today
